WavenDean Fernandes is his brand. "You know him when you see him, sporting his signature part Hawaii/ part California dress and Mana Brand logo necklace. He meant it to be that way. With over 25 years in the Marketing Business WavenDean has fine tuned what he represents and shared how we are ambassadors of our own brands at our luncheon last week. To explain what that means, Waven first defined the difference between a brand and a logo. Simply put, a logo is something you wear, whereas a brand is something that you experience both physically and virtually. He believes that each individual is a brand expert, expressed though what we wear, eat, consume and who we associate with. Waven goes on to explain that logos are tactile and transitional but brands are transformational. What creates the first brand impression is important, is it you, your product, your marketing materials (both physical and virtual). Successful branding components including: essence, identity, expression, marketing that must all be considered to maximize the brand experience. In addition, branding needs to appeal to the reptilian (desire for food, shelter, clothing, safety, sex) and angelic motivation (desire for love, caring, service to others) inherent in humans. Waven shared that products are built in a factory but brands are built in the mind and need to connect to the customer’s heart. In order to be a success in branding there is a need to “sell’ more share of heart to customers by creating a lasting brand experience and customer experience. A positive customer experience leads to brand loyalty and customers become ambassadors and evangelists for the brand. Another essential piece of the branding puzzle is the quality of the website. All promotional materials drive potential customers to a company’s website. Businesses need to make sure their website is worthy of receiving that audience. WavenDean has established a team of marketing masters (many of them present at the luncheon) who assist him and his clients in ensuring that their brand be expressed in effective and powerful ways!"
